Nursery
Welcome to Nursery
Hello and welcome to our nursery web page. Here you will find information about our nursery and what the children are learning.
We create a safe and happy environment with motivating and enjoyable learning experiences that enable children to become confident and independent learners.
As outlined in Development Matters September 2021 “When we give every child the best start in their early years, we give them what they need today. We also set them up with every chance of success tomorrow.”

Knowledge Organisers
At the beginning of each half term we will send home a knowledge organiser. This will tell you key facts learnt during the half term. Keep it in a safe place (the fridge door!) and use it regularly to support your child's learning. At the end of the half term encourage your child to complete the activity by themselves. Learning the key vocabulary is essential.
Activity Passports
We have out together this list of activities for children to enjoy and learn from. Having a wide range of interests and experiences will give a sense of personal achievement and can also improve academic outcome. Your children may find something they want to come back to again and again, and we hope that, whatever they do, they will enjoy them.
Online Learning Journals
Every child has an online learning journal where parents and the early years team can document the child's learning and experiences.

Chat, play, read!
Young children love it when you chat, play and read with them. You can turn almost anything into a game. And every little thing you do together will help set them up nicely for the day they start school.
Toilet training
Department of Education - How to support babies and young children with toilet training.
Every child’s development is unique. Some children can be toilet trained earlier and faster than others. It is important to support children to learn at their own pace.
The advice on when to start toilet training children can vary. NHS guidance explains that most children are ready to begin toilet training from around 18 months to 2 years.
However, some people may choose to start earlier.
Starting toilet training after 2 and a half to 3 years can make it harder for some children to learn this new skill.
Different cultures may start toilet training at different ages. Toilet training should be guided by the child’s parents or carers. It is important to respect parental preferences during the process.
