Head Students

Our Head Students for 2024-25

Our Head Students, Tanya and Satvik, are at the forefront of our school’s outstanding pupil leadership program—a true strength of Ryvers. Selected through a rigorous recruitment process in the Summer Term, this ensures a seamless handover from outgoing to incoming Head Students, equipping them to take on their responsibilities with confidence and skill.

Our Head Students are easily identifiable by their special ‘Head Student’ jumpers, presented by the school to celebrate their appointment. They take a leading role in weekly Celebration Assemblies, where they deliver key messages, showcase Ryvers' values, and foster a culture of respect and pride. They also audition aspiring musicians to provide performance opportunities at the beginning and end of assemblies, further enriching these events. By sharing messages and responsibilities at a peer level, Head Students create an environment where pupils feel listened to and empowered.

This role develops their oracy, leadership, and accountability while earning them the respect of both peers and staff. For the school, Head Students embody the Ryvers values, demonstrating the importance of pupil voice, responsibility, and a strong community culture. Their leadership inspires and engages their peers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Our pupil leadership program is a source of immense pride. All our pupil leaders serve as exceptional role models, continually impressing staff with their eloquence, respect, and ability to lead. The personal growth we witness in our leaders year upon year is remarkable and inspiring. The roles builds their oracy, leadership, and accountability, while for the school, it reinforces our commitment to developing confident, capable, and respectful individuals who embody the Ryvers values.
