Admissions Information

Ryvers School allocates school places in conjunction with Slough Borough Council School Admissions, who also hold the information regarding any waiting list. Please apply at https://www.slough.gov.uk/school-admissions/apply-school-place

 

Reception Entry 

If you have a child who was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, you must apply for a Reception school place for September 2023. 

Before you apply for your child’s school place for September 2023, please make sure the following applies to you:

  1. You live in Slough
  2. Your child is eligible to start primary school in September 2023
  3. You know which school you would like your child to attend
  4. You know how your child will get to school
  5. You have read our helpful guide - available soon

Everyone must apply for a school place. There is no automatic entry to any school.

On time applications for a reception places at primary school 2023 are now closed. All applications after 15 January for primary schools are considered as late applications. 

You must only apply through SBC if you are a SBC resident. Please visit the SBC Admissions for further information.

If you are not a resident of Slough Borough Council you will need to apply through your Home Authority. You will still be able to apply for Slough Borough Council schools through your home Authority.

For in-year applications,  SBC hold waiting lists for Reception to Year 6 at Ryvers. Please complete our own admission form as well as the In-Year CAF form  for Slough.

 

SEN

If your child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an EHC Plan, you must apply for a place via Slough’s Educational Support Services.

 

Secondary School Transfers for Year 6 children.

An application for a secondary school must be made when your child starts Year 6. SBC expect all applications to be completed online and the portal opens early September 2023 and closes on 31 October 2023. (Exact date tbc) Any application made after this date will be classed as late and will only be processed after once timely applications have been dealt with. In this case, it could be extremely unlikely that your child will be allocated a school of your choice.

If you are not a resident of Slough Borough Council you will need to apply through your Home Authority. You will still be able to apply for Slough Borough Council schools through your home Authority.

Although a number of our children go on to attend Grammar schools, Ryvers School does not tutor children for the 11+ tests. Please check the websites of any of the Slough grammar Schools for information about how to apply or visit Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools Admissions Portal. Tests take place in September and results are posted prior to the closing date for CAF submission.
