What is Carousel Learning?

At Ryvers, we continue to use Carousel Learning as a useful retrieval and assessment tool that can be used for all subjects and enables teachers to build a solid picture of the learning of all children, continue building on a variety of skills - such as questioning, speaking and listening, identifying key information and retrieval of previous learning, and ensure that no learning opportunity is missed.

Why Carousel Learning?

Carousel Learning allows children to access retrieval tasks independently and take more ownership of their learning journey, which are important skills that teachers work to embed from Early Years through to Year 6. Carousel Learning allows children to assess their own tasks and learning across a range of subjects, enables them to learn from their mistakes and helps to promote discussion in class to support their speaking and listening skills as part of our Oracy focus.
