Mental Health Champions
Our Mental Health Champions are dedicated pupils who promote well-being throughout the school community. Working on a rota on our EYFS, KS1 and KS2 playgrounds, they are easily identifiable by their individualised lanyards, making them approachable for their peers.
Each champion has received training from our Pastoral Officer, equipping them with the skills to offer a listening ear and provide basic support to their peers. They understand their boundaries and know when to refer concerns to staff for further help. Champions also help raise awareness through activities and initiatives and are an important part of our pupil voice.
This role empowers pupils by developing their empathy, active listening, and leadership skills. For the school, it fosters a culture of care and inclusivity, ensuring all pupils feel supported and valued. Mental Health Champions contribute to a positive, resilient school environment where pupil well-being is a shared priority.
