Our Buddies play an essential role in supporting positive play and social interaction during playground time. These pupils help ensure that all children feel included and have opportunities to engage in enjoyable and cooperative activities.

Buddies are trained to use our PSHE Jigsaw Games cards, aligning activities with the current Jigsaw puzzle focus. They teach new games, encourage teamwork, and help resolve minor conflicts, fostering a harmonious and inclusive playground environment. They also support pupils who may feel unsure or left out, ensuring everyone has a chance to join in and feel valued.

This role helps Buddies develop leadership, empathy, and problem-solving skills, boosting their confidence and social awareness. For the school, the Buddy system promotes positive behaviour, supports the development of social skills, and creates a more inclusive and co-operative playground atmosphere where all pupils can thrive.
