Reception

Welcome to Reception

Hello and welcome to our Reception web page. Here you will find information about our Reception classes and what the children are learning.

Please check this page, along with Tapestry on a regular basis.smiley

We create a safe and happy environment with motivating and enjoyable learning experiences that enable children to become confident and independent learners.  As outlined in Development Matters September 2021 “When we give every child the best start in their early years, we give them what they need today. We also set them up with every chance of success tomorrow.”

Knowledge Organisers

At the beginning of each half term we will send home a knowledge organiser. This will tell you key facts learnt during the half term. Keep it in a safe place (the fridge door!) and use it regularly to support your child's learning. At the end of the half term encourage your child to complete the activity by themselves. Learning the key vocabulary is essential.

Activity Passports

We have out together this list of activities for children to enjoy and learn from. Having a wide range of interests and experiences will give a sense of personal achievement and can also improve academic outcome. Your children may find something they want to come back to again and again, and we hope that, whatever they do, they will enjoy them.

Homework

Reception homework can be found on Tapestry. Please  check regularly.

Phonics

At Ryvers Primary School, we now have a new phonics scheme called Little Wandle Letters and Sounds

Please visit:

The resources on this page will help you support your child with saying their sounds and writing their letters. There are also some useful videos so you can see how they are taught at school and feel confident about supporting their reading at home.
