Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

At Ryvers, we have high aspirations and ambitions for our children and we believe that no child should be left behind. We strongly believe that it is not about where the child comes from but their passion and thirst for knowledge. We are determined to ensure that our children are given every chance to realise their full potential.

What is Pupil Premium?

The pupil premium is a government initiative that targets extra money at pupils from deprived backgrounds. Research shows that pupils from deprived backgrounds underachieve compared to their non-deprived peers. The premium is provided to enable these pupils to be supported to reach their potential.

What do we do at Ryvers School?

At Ryvers School we used the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) to overcome barriers to learning and to support children to meet age‚Äźexpected levels. Our aim is to narrow the attainment gap between those children who receive the grant and those that do not.

We will achieve this by:

  • Improving attendance and punctuality
  • Providing earlier intervention (KS1 and EYFS)
  • Offering 1:1 tutoring and additional out of hours additional learning e.g. SATs Club
  • We will continue to ensure that all children across the school receive good teaching, with increasing percentages of outstanding teaching achieved by using our Senior leadership team.
  • Teachers set high expectations and model good and outstanding practices
  • Teachers work together to Share good practice within the school and draw on external expertise
  • Improve assessment through moderation
