Kedermister Education Trust

What is the KET?

The Kedermister Education Trust (KET) is an Umbrella Trust made up of three local academies - Langley Grammar Secondary School, Ryvers Primary School and Castleview School - who all have made a joint commitment to work together to enhance the learning experiences for all our pupils.

One key area that is a priority for all the schools is transition from Year 6 to Year 7 (namely Year 7 at Langley Grammar as Castleview and Ryvers are the two main feeder schools) as this is a daunting time for all Year 6 children. There are many interesting events planned that will see the Year 6 children becoming 'used to' life at secondary school, before September, in order to reduce anxiety and build excitment. As well as this, the Year 7 and 8 staff at Langley Grammar will gain a valuable insight into what the children have been doing in Year 6 and what they are capable of.

Last academic year saw some exciting projects take place where the three schools came together effectively - for example the introduction of an overnight expedition for Year 6 pupils, led by Langley Grammar staff, and based on the concept of Duke of Edinburgh.

The schools have also joined forces for a variety of music and sporting events, all which have been very successful.

On a more strategic level, the Headteachers have worked closely together to understand the key priorities and challenges of each school and where they can support each other.

At the start of the Summer Term, all the subject leaders from across the KET worked together to discuss the work they were doing and how each school could support one another to improve the learning experience for all.

The KET is being developed all the time with many new and innovative ways of working together....
