The SEN Department
The SEN Department support pupils across the school with varying needs. Steps are put in place to support these children through the use of Provision Maps. These outline the different provisions that are used to support the individual with their specific needs. The different activities are incorporated into their timetables and children have access to these on a weekly basis. Provision Maps are reviewed at regular intervals and are supported with targets for the children to work on in a measured amount of time.
We make use of different outside agencies to support the children in our care. These include Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Autism Outreach workers to name but a few. We also have an in-house specialist teacher who is able to carry out a range of assessments and give advice reports.

This is the name for the Autistic Resource Base. We have an 8 place base within the school and this caters for the needs of children with Autism. Each child is considered on an individual basis and as a result they each receive an individual timetable and provision to support them in their learning needs. The children in the base access their mainstream curriculum in different ways. For some it is more appropriate for them to access their Numeracy and Literacy sessions from the base and attend the topic based sessions within their mainstream class. Support is provided in a number of different ways. For some of the children in our care it is appropriate for them to have 1:1 support for others the ratios are slightly different. The children are offered opportunities through 'Tuesday Activities' to try Cookery and they attend Forest School on a weekly basis.
