PTA

Welcome to Ryvers PTA

What is a Parent Teacher Association (PTA)?
The PTA is an organisation of parents, carers, guardians and staff, who come together with the common goal of raising money to support the school. The primary method of fundraising is through social events for both parents and children that provide an opportunity for people to meet and get together to know each other and have fun.
How is the PTA organised?
All parents, carers and guardians of pupils currently attending the school and all teaching and non-teaching members of staff are automatically members of the PTA.
There is a committee that meets on a regular basis to run the PTA and organise fundraising events. It consists of an elected chair, a treasurer, a secretary and ordinary committee members. These ordinary members include any parent or teacher who wishes to attend on a regular or non-regular basis.
How is money raised?
Last year the majority of money was raised by our very successful Advent and Summer Fayres. Other fundraising events included a Family Portrait Session, Christmas cards, a Pamper Night, a Disco, a Charleston night and a Royal Wedding Cake stall. We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and ways to improve our existing events. All feedback is welcome, if you are unable to attend a committee meeting, please leave feedback in the PTA box in the office.
How is money spent?
Funds raised by the PTA are intended to provide ‘extras’ not already provided by the school's main income – often 'fun things' that make learning more interesting and exciting.
The PTA committee and the head teacher decide how to spend PTA funds. In July we were able to present to the school a fantastic new Sound and Vision System for Trelawney Hall, the culmination of a year of fundraising.
