Please note that the curriculum maps are outlines and teachers may make slight adjustments as the year progresses.

Ryvers’ curriculum is an ever evolving programme that is designed to meet the needs of our children. As such, it changes with regularity to ensure that the approach taken is both appropriate and relevant to the children in our school. The curriculum is planned by experts – excellent class teachers who work in teams and together hold tremendous knowledge which is a clear benefit of the size of the school.  Further we have specialist teachers for Music, PE, French and Reading Recovery, and we make significant links with schools in the Kediminster Trust (consisting of Ryvers School, Castleview Primary and Langley Grammar School) and other local secondary schools, drawing upon the further expertise which we are able to access and use to benefit all our children.

We firmly believe in developing resilience, reflectiveness, reciprocity and resourcefulness which underpin our state of the art curriculum, ensuring children leaving Ryvers are ready for the world they are entering – confident, knowledgeable and able to succeed.

Ryvers’ topic curriculum promotes strong international links which we feel are crucial in the changing world.   Much focus is put on learning for real life with real contexts, and significant emphasis is placed upon ensuring understanding of technology, another area of importance along with ensuring children learn how to keep themselves safe both on and off-line. We also offer a wide range of sports and are quickly becoming known as the primary school of choice for parents who wish to ensure their children develop a love of sport.   On offer are a wide range of clubs from gymnastics to cricket, from fencing to football to Indian Dance.  Almost all children choose to take part in a sport club and we have attained the Silver School Games Award which is a significant achievement. We are now working towards the Gold School Games Award and, in Music, we are working towards our Silver Sing Up Award.  We continually move forwards, providing an excellent range of opportunities for all children.

Ultimately, our curriculum reflects and responds to the needs of our children and their futures.  With an expert staff, exceptional resources and a meaningful curriculum, Ryvers offers children the very best start to these important early years.
